President's Message

It is hard to express how honoured I feel to have been selected to represent Mothers’ Union on behalf of all of our Canadian members. I am looking forward to working hand- in-hand with our members from across the country and hope to spend time visiting branches throughout the Maritimes and the rest of Canada.

It is an exhilarating time for us in the Canadian Mothers’ Union, having our first ever Canadian Mothers’ Union Worldwide President, our own dear Kathleen Snow, who has been involved in so many different components of Mothers’ Union. Kathleen’s commissioning took place on March 24, 2025 and I was so excited to have been invited to attend this event in London, England. I met many more of my Mothers’ Union sisters at this event and know that we will all be supporting Kathleen in any way that we can. She is already carrying out her duties and I am so thrilled to follow her activities and to uphold her in prayer.

Mothers’ Union International has recently welcomed a new Patron from the Royal Family. Mothers’ Union has had the privilege of enjoying royal patronage since its founding in 1876, and we are delighted, as we approach our 150th Anniversary in 2026, that Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Edinburgh, has accepted the invitation to continue this tradition. Kathleen has had the honour of meeting with her and has observed how Her Royal Highness' experiences and strengths well suit our organization.

Hebrews 10: 24-25 says: “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching”. When I read these words I think of how they apply to our Mothers’ Union International theme for this year “Join Us, Join In!”. We, as members of this organization, have so much to offer in terms of service to our families, our churches, our communities. There are many Christian people out there who are unaware of the projects and outreach that we do. They think of us as just another group that gets together once a month. This next term will be spent trying to grow our Canadian Mothers’ Union membership. I am looking forward to brainstorming ideas with all of you, as to how we can propel Mothers’ Union into becoming a “growing concern”. We need to educate and inform people about us because the generation growing up today wants to do things that matter. They don’t waste time because they have little time to waste, but if they have a project that speaks to them, they are happy to give their time, attention and financial support to it. We need to uplift each other as we encourage new members to come and see all that we are doing in Jesus’ name!

Blessed Heavenly Father,

I thank you for this beautiful world you have given us and all the beautiful people you have placed in it. I thank you for this great Christian organization, Mothers’ Union, and all the wonderful works we have been able to accomplish in Your Blessed Name. I thank you that you have given us hearts and bodies for service and I ask that you will continue to give us the opportunities and the abilities to do those things that you set before us. I pray for growth in our membership here in Canada as we share information about Mothers’ Union and our projects here and around the world. I ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord,
